HEADLINES

carry your PFD & fishing licences as NSW Maritimes are out. Nsw fisheries inspectors are working the Snowy Mountains area during the peak holiday season. So remember if you do not have a current fishing licence and on your person you will be fined. So for the sake of 5 minutes do yourself a favour.

Maritime services are on the lakes, So make sure you water craft are up to par with current safety standards, if you are not sure contact Ph 13 12 56 or website:

LAKE EUCUMBENE FLY FISHING
Well over Christmas lake Eucumbene fished really well with most reports coming from Buckenderra, Rushys, Seven gates, Braemer Bay and Yens Bay but most of all Middleing bank all reports on rainbows and browns.
Good reports from Middling bank from 1pm to 3pm weird but true over at rushes fishing has been good late in the afternoons with some good reports on the rainbows after 6pm till late.
Over at seven gates the browns have been taking Mrs Simpsons and fuzzys after dark.
With the lake still dropping and the hot weather you would think things would change but that hasn’t been so fishing has been great.
Best wet flies are Mrs Simpsons, Fuzzys, Muddlers, Bead Head Nymphs
Best dry’s are Kinkhammers, Midge Balls,
Overall the lake has been at it’s best and there’s a lot more to come.





LAKE TANTANGARA FLY FISHING
The lake is fishing at it’s best like always at this time off year rainbows and browns are going well. Just your std flies are working well Woolly Buggers, Nymphs, Muddlers are all working well best time 6pm till late.
Overall the lake is fishing at it’s best worth a try




GUTHEGA PONDAGE

Guthega is a very tricky lake to fish but this is the time to go with all the hoppers about things really start to Improve, So if you want to Improve your skills this will test the best fishers about worth a fish.


REMEMBER CATCH AND RELEASE IT’S FUN
FLY FISHING RIVERS

Most rivers around Jindabyne are fishing great the Thredbo river is at it’s best up high with some good reports coming from the diggings up, Best dry’s are red Tags, Caddis, Humpys and Adams parachutes
Over at Mowambah river things can’t get better the river is running well and the fish are on the hunt this river you can fish all day and have fun best area from the bridge up. Best dry’s are Klinkhammers, Red Tags, Royal Wulffs
So overall around jindabyne all rivers are fishing well so don’t let the lake put you off the rivers are fishing good.
River to try Snowy river upper and lower, Perisher creek, and most mountain stream are fishing well worth a fish

COOMA MONARO
Most rivers are fishing well these rivers can test the best fly fishers out so if you think you are good enough get out there I’m sure you will be surprised how well they are fishing.
dry flie’s around the Monaro, klinkhammers, Adams Parachutes, Wulffs, Black Spinners,
 



LAKE EUCUMBENE TROLLING
Trolling on eucumbene has been ok in most places with browns and rainbow but with all this hot weather you will have to get up early to get the good fish.

Overall the trolling has been good but you will have to get up early to beat the heat and to get the best fishing done.
Try to keep away from the shallow waters and troll along the weed banks out in the deeper waters.



 


BAIT FISHING EUCUMBENE
Bait fishing is at it’s best at the moment with the mudeyes being the stand out bait best areas are Middling bank, Seven Gates, Rushes, Braemer Bay
Over at middling bank thing can’t get better with the mud eyes and worms both getting rainbows and browns.
At Buckenderra worms have been going well
Braemer bay mudeye’s are smashing the browns and rainbow along with the power bait,.
Seven gates mudeye’s and power bait
Rushes bay mudeye’s ,worms and power bait are going really well

Overall the bait fishing is at it’s best so get out there and enjoy it things are looking pretty good.
