HEADLINES
We are getting a lot of feed back from the Seven Gates area about fires and rubbish left all over the place.
Please be mindful to take your rubbish with you and clean up after yourself.
Please be sure to carry your PFD & fishing licences as NSW Maritimes are out. Nsw fisheries inspectors are working the Snowy Mountains area during the peak holiday season. So remember if you do not have a current fishing licence and on your person you will be fined. So for the sake of 5 minutes do yourself a favour.
Maritime services are on the lakes, So make sure you water craft are up to par with current safety standards, if you are not sure contact Ph 13 12 56 or website: www.maritime.nsw.gov.au

Headlines: Fishing reports have been good again this week. The lakes have provided the most reports and Eucumbene has produced yet again with some excellent baitfishing with ,worms,Grubs and the fly fishing has been outstanding. Jindabyne has also fired over the weekend with some great trolling

Euc Rivers:-
most off the rainbows have moved back down to the Lake but you will fined them in patches up the river so take your time and have a good look. Most fishermen are finding them in the deeper holes below the runs with the warmer weather moving in you will find fish starting to move up to the top this would be a good time to start using a few Dry flies though the day B/H Nymphs with a indicator will work well.
Thredbo River:- has been very slow so if you wonder up that way do much the same as you would in the Euc River
Lake Eucumbene:-Looks fantastic at present and the water is still rising but the fish have not been coming in around the edges in big numbers yet. With the edges warming and the Midges and Caddis numbers Rising it won't be long before it really fires up. Evening is the best time to hit the lake for rising fish. The are jumping out off the water chasing Dragon fly’s so it might be a good idea to move the fly’s a lot faster along the water.
Best areas to look are Seven Gates, Buckenderra, Braemer,Coppermine, Collingwood, Yens, Springwood
Night fishing will improve over the next few weeks with the rising water. Dark flies like Craigs, Fuzzies, Phantoms, are the go. Mudeye patterns will account for a few fish in the next week or two.
Lake Jindabyne:- The fishing in Jindabyne has still been quite good and better than expected. The dropping water has slowed the polaroiding for some but there are still fish around the edges that are very polaroidable. Fishing around the weedy banks on the western side will get you some good results.
Night time fishing has been good with some nice reports coming in. Muddler Minnows, Fuzzy Wuzzys, Hammils and Tom Jones work very well at this time of year..
Best areas to look at are Sids Bay, Hatchery Bay, Creel Bay, Kangaroo Bay, and Kalkite.

Lake Tantangara :- No Reports
Baitfishing :- Mudeyes are back in stock now and are producing some good fish at both Jindabyne and Eucumbene. Bait fishing has been excellent in Jindabyne with Gulp Power bait and standard Power bait and the new Magic Morsels Trout Bait. Quality fish are coming in from the Rushes Bay, Waste point Kalkite and Hatchey Bay areas. Best Bait is scrub worms picking up some good Browns.
Trolling and Spinning
Eucumbene:-Trolling has improved in the lake and boat access is very easy also.
Trolling will be good but you still have to find the fish. Reports suggest that hugging the shore in close early has produced best results. Other have found fish in the deeper water near the dam wall and Braemar and around Buckenderra and seven gates are the best areas to troll.
All types of lures will work this week with yellows, greens and pinks in Tassie and Cobra style lures very popular.
The new strike pro Blades are proving popular and have taken a number of fish already.
Spotted dog minnows in Rapalas, Attacks, RMG Scorpions,are great lures to try. Try some of the larger lures down deep to search out the bigger browns.
Gladiator lipless minnows and Smilin Jack Hoppers behind cowbells or fenders are another great early season lure to try.
Best areas to look at this week are the Dam wall, Buckenderra, Seven gates and Anglers reach.
Best Tassie’s are Y05, Y82, Y94, 107, 104, 23, 36, 78
Best sting lures 25, 17, 12, 15 ,8, 4, 16
Fished Eucumbene on the weekend picked up 11 trout most on hardbody

Here's a picture of my daughter Ellie with a 1.8kg brown caught at old Adaminaby and she caught a pair that size. We fished through the night and they seemed to go in runs. A couple were released as they were a bit knocked around from spawning, a couple of decent ones lost and the rainbows had not all spawned as yet.
