HEADLINES

We are getting a lot of feed back from the Seven Gates area about fires and rubbish left all over the place.  Please be mindful to take your rubbish with you and clean up after yourself.  Please be sure to carry your PFD & fishing licences as NSW Maritimes are out. Nsw fisheries inspectors are working the Snowy Mountains area during the peak holiday season. So remember if you do not have a current fishing licence and on your person you will be fined. So for the sake of 5 minutes do yourself a favour.

Maritime services are on the lakes, So make sure you water craft are up to par with current safety standards, if you are not sure contact Ph 13 12 56 or website:

FLY FISHING LAKE EUCUMBENE & JINDABYNE 

Eucumbene..
 
Reports have been good this week on the fly with most fishermen doing well around Rushes, Middling bank, Frying pan, seven gates, Braemer bay,Providence.
Most most fishermen are doing well in the larger bays with reports fish are rising everywhere but still a little hard to catch but once they found the right fly thing got better.
Still good reports off rainbows coming in close feeding on mudeye’s the browns are still active in close and out wide feeding on mudeye’s and moths.
Best wet flies are B/H Nymphs black and brown, Black Muddlers, tom jones, Craig’s,
Best dry flies are Royal Coachmans, Red Tags, Adams, Yellow Stimulators, Royal Wulff
Day fishing best flies are woolly buggers B/H down deep and B/H Nymphs count down. 
 

 

   
Jindabyne Lake
 
Jindabyne has Improved somewhat but you will have to go looking for them best places are the big bays up around hatchery bay, west shore bays, Edwards bay,
Over on the east side off the lake Rushes bay, cliffs point to sids bay, are fishing well late in the afternoons if you are fishing though the day try Trollian village and water Supply point.
Best wet flies are woolly buggers black and Olive, Mrs Simpsons, B/H Nymphs
Best Dry’s are wulffs, snowy hoppers, Adams, Coachman’s, klinkhammers
Overall jindy could be better so you will have to do some walking to find them fish!!
 






TANTANGARA Lake
Is still rising and the fishing is good up the top end off the lake most fishermen are catching browns with a few rainbows coming in late at night most fish have been taking woolly buggers, tom jones and B/H Nymphs.
Best areas for browns are the larger bays and the rainbows are on the points. 
At the moment the lake is looking good and still rising and the fishing is good best times are 6pm into the dark and if your fishing through the day try the larger flies woolly buggers, Mrs Simpsons and large Nymphs.  



 

THREDBO RIVER
Is fishing good with all the reports coming in most fishermen are happy still getting reports on rainbows in good numbers that’s a big Improvement form last year.
Most fish are taking dry Flies Adams Parachute, Royal wulff, sparkle pupa, Klinhammers.
Best places are paddy’s corner, bridge down, ski tube, Thredbo township.






EUCUMBENE RIVER
fishing is still going well on most parts off the river but your best fishing is late in the afternoons with plenty off fish rising the water is still cool and running well.
Best dry flies are wulff’s, klinkhammers, Nymphs, Humpy’s
Remember the best fishing will be late in the afternoons and it is fishing well.



TANTANGARA,
Reports have been good up in the river most fly fishermen have been getting browns and just a few rainbows but it’s all looking good up that way at the moment the insect hatch has been good and the fish are very active late in the afternoons. Nymph fishing with a strike indicator has been the best way to fish or a Royal wulff and Nymph.

EUCUMBENE BAIT FISHING IS EXCELLENT MUDEYES AND WORMS UNDER A BUBBLE
 
 

 
Bait fishing has been really good in most places on Eucumbene with mudeye’s being the best bait and if you can get the grasshoppers there working well.
Best places are Rushes, Seven gates, Middling bank,
Middling bank worms and mudeye’s have been working well
Rushes worms, mudeye’s and power bait
Seven gates Grubs, worms mudeye’s
Braemer Bay Grubs, mudeye’s,worms,Power bait
Overall the bait fishing is great in all areas and only getting better

 
 

 

 
 
Lake Jindabyne is fishing ok reports form jindy this week have been good with mudeye’s,power bait and Grubs doing well.
Best ares are poo bay, hatchery bay, Kalkite, Hay shed bay,
Hatchery bay is Grubs and worms
Hay shed bay Mudeye’s, power bait
Kalkite mudeye’s ,worms, Grubs, power bait
