A quick report
Lake Eucumbene at 21% and falling steadily may not sound appealing to trout fishos ears, but ironically its fishing extremely well.Browns are cashing in on the poor old yabbies that are getting smashed and forced out of there homes by waves and receding shorelines. All methods are producing great quality fish. Those who like to soak a bait have found scrub worms to be the best fished in close on the lakes dirty margins.Lure fishing, be it flat line trolling or landbased spinning is just as effective with the bullet in "spawning brown" or tassies in hot colours such as chartreuse or pinks collecting lots of attention.Wet fly fishing has kicked off with a bang, prospecting around any fishy looking drop offs and structure being the ticket to success ,then dropping back to a soak right on dark an exciting way to finish off a session.Best flies Buggers, simpsons, hammils and yetis.Favourite areas Seven gates, rushes, braemar and buckenderra. Jindabyne has steadied at 64% is still giving up ridiculously big salmon and gorgeous brooks to lure, fly and bait.Best areas for the salmon and brooks is from widows creek to curiosity rocks as well as poo bay.Large hardbodies like rapala, zerek shads and tassie devils being the choice lures. Kalkite and east Jindy still producing top angling particularly on overcast days..
