Lake Jindabyne fly:

This is the only report we have had this last fortnight form Jindabyne.

G day fellas I fished lake jindy last week from weds the 28th of sept until sat 1st of oct every arvo until dark
I used a combo of wet fly and the snowy minnow from 4 pm after the days skiing up in the mountains!!!
in total a landed 6 fish from 0.5 kg to my personal best 3.76kg brown the lake is on fire at
moment with water flooding many grass filled bays and lots of big fish looking around for food very
frustrating at moment I loss may fish in weeds and large submerged rocks I managed to hook a large
atlandic salmon in the 4 kg bracket on the snowy minnow after a 10 minute fight and close to finished the
hook pulled from his large jaw!!!!! I was total shattered with the loss but half a hour later I landed the huge brown next bay over so my day was saved from total disappointment!!! anyway this fish is getting mounted at skins alive will be ready at xmas best area I fished would be the west side around hatchery bay pick a windy and cloudy day and you will do very well with fly or minnow
best I have fished at jindy cheers Ben Pearson

The Thredbo is still fishing well and you do have to walk to get to them but it is worth the walk as this lucky angler Stewert Gordon found out.

Best flies at present are Mrs Simpson brown ,Mrs Simpson olive. Woolly buggers Olive & Black, B/H Nymphs black, Fuzzy Wuzzys, Williams Goldfish.

Best areas are Poo Bay, Dam Wall, Snowline Park, Hatchery Bay, East Jindabyne, Kalkite.

"The most productive area is still the Snowline Park"

Lake Eucumbene fly:

On lake Eucumbene it had been really good fishing once you pick the right weather for it. With the lake rising so fast it you have plenty of areas to hide in. Most reports are coming through from Providence Portal, Anglers Reach, Old Adaminaby, Seven gates, Frying Pan, Buckenderra.

Hi
I called in to the shop on friday to pick up a couple of black nymphs. Glad I did as I landed four fish that night. First fish was a rainbow around the 2lb mark, second fish one the same and then the action started at dark with a 3lb brown followed by a magnificient 6 lb male brown. We had a great time at fryingpan thanks to Dawn and Barry and came away with seven fish. The nymph was fished mid water and slow to medium retrieve.

Nice fish Paul very nice.

Flies that are performing well are Mrs Simpson Brown, Mrs Simpson Olive, Woolly Bugger in Black and Olive. Bead head Nymphs in Black and Olive.

Tantangara Reservoir

Finally we have a report from Tantangara.

Hi all, me and a few mates fished Tantangara over the weekend, ended up with 34 fish! Most were browns which were all taken on worms. Most of the rainbows were caught on a mixture of powerbait, most colours were taken. Biggest fish was a 2 1/2 lb rainbow. No fish caught at night..Not sure why!

Trolling and Spinning

Eucumbene

Eucumbene trolling reports have been good many anglers getting ready for the season opening and the few keen ones have been coming up early with some nice results. So far the Old Adaminaby, Dam wall, Buckenderra , seven gates are still fishing well.

Helga Alexander and her husband are had a great day troling, Here we have Helga with a lovely rainbow Trout, sorry guys but the photo of your hubby did not work, so he will have to catch another fish to get on the web report.

Current Tassie s colours are Y48, PP, 36, Y36, 81, Y82, 88, Y05, 48 ,YFR

Also Snowy mountains minnows are back in action and doing well.

The Pegrons in Pm2, Pm7, Pm8.Rapalas in floating and broken back are doing well in the following series,F7,F5, F9 in Rainbow trout, Brown trout.

Jindabyne

Best areas to fish around the dam wall, Poo bay down below the Jindabyne club, snowline caravan Park. things have been a little slow so your lure selection is important. Blade lures and stiffy lures would do well on the big browns as will the rainbow Squidgies lures, Rapala X-Raps and Jointed minnows are working as well. Pegron in Pm2 , Pm7, Pm8 are coming back in to the wing of things.

Bait fishing

Eucumbene

The bait fishing has been great and we are swamped with pictures, thank you to all whom stopped in and showed us the fish and supplied us with details.
Geoff Bleathman is one lucky angler who caught a Brown Trout weighing in at 2.5Kg and 61 cm long on Rainbow Candy under a scrub worm. He was so happy with his fish he was straight off to Skins Alive to have it mounted. Good one Geoff hope you get plenty more to mount.

Jindabyne

Jindabyne is still fishing really well regardless of the releasing of the waters. The fish have been caught on Power bait under scrub worm and some reports show mudeyes are coming in to the swing of things. If the weather allow if you cannot go past a worm under a bubble float and hold on as the big browns take off with it.

Young Lochlan Giulaini went out with his family and out fished his father as usual so I hear. Great fish Lochlan may it be the begining of many more to come for you.

.

From Buckenderra

The fishing and weather were excellent over the weekend with several people bagging out each day.  Fish were caught by trolling with a wide range of lures working well and the bait fisherman had most success using power bait sherbet and lime twist were very popular. Scrub worms were also doing well.

We had a great brown caught over the weekend by Dennis Snowden trolling it weighed 8.42lb and was 67cm in length. We are hearing that they are being caught in deeper water.

Alan Smith caught a nice brown 7.92lb on orange power bait I will send photos through nice work guys.

We also had a fishing tournament over the weekend 73 anglers weighed in fish with 271 rainbow trout and 80 brown trout caught averaging 490 grams clean weight.

The largest Rainbow Trout caught was 946 grams cleaned caught by Warren Robinson.

Largest Brown trout weighed 1996 grams cleaned caught by Dave Tinworth.
